Several years ago, I chose the domain freshwaterfishingadvice.com. However, with the collaboration of saltwater experts and anglers, I eventually broadened the site’s scope to encompass saltwater fishing. Despite its title, the website offers freshwater and saltwater fishing insights.
My roots in northeastern Pennsylvania farm country instilled in me a passion for fishing, hunting, and delving into the great outdoors. With over a quarter-century of fishing experience, I’ve particularly enjoyed targeting bass, trout, bullheads, and engaging in ice fishing for chain pickerel. Valued memories include summer fishing expeditions alongside my father, where we sought bluefish, flounder, and weakfish off the New Jersey shoreline.
After completing high school, my residences—and consequent fishing adventures—have spanned Wyoming, California, Utah, Nebraska, Arizona, and Oregon. My angling experiences have introduced me to species like redfish, kokanee, chain pickerel, walleye, musky, northern pike, brown trout, steelhead, various bass types, flathead catfish, striped bass, carp, among others. Presently, I reside in Ohio, where the pursuit of steelhead beckons during the fall and spring seasons.
Several years back, I earned a B.S. in Fisheries & Wildlife Science and took on multiple seasonal roles as a wildlife/fisheries technician. My responsibilities spanned areas like bird studies, fish conservation, invasive plant eradication, large game management, and research on wildlife diseases. Although I’ve transitioned out of the scientific domain, I remain hopeful of contributing as a volunteer.
Drawing from my profound appreciation for nature, collaborations with biologists and game wardens, personal fishing journeys, and rigorous angling research, I’ve refined my capabilities as an angler. I don’t claim to be an authority on fishing, but I’m eager to share the insights I’ve gathered with those who are just beginning or at an intermediate level in their angling journey.
