Length: This fish can grow to be over 4 feet long, and possibly even 5 feet long (unofficially). They can only weigh roughly 70 pounds at most (32 kg). There have been reports of larger records, however, the species of these records is a point of contention. They’re most prevalent in the one to eight-pound range, but there is plenty of mature fish around (24 inches) 60 cm.

Weight: Typically less than 10 lbs. Adults can weigh up to 70 pounds. There is some species confusion, possibly more. When these fish reach adulthood, they become large and powerful. From Spring to Fall, it can be seen in Florida. They have a terminal temperature of roughly 48° F (9° C), thus as the water temperature rises, they must travel south and/or into deeper water.

Bluegill
