For any stockingfoot waders, you will need a good pair of wading boots that are sturdy and stable. Wading boots will grip the slippery river bottom and also keep your ankles and foot bones stable while wading. They are the most important thing keeping you safe on the water and these wading boots are the ones I own. I really like them. These boots have rubber soles but in states that allow it, felt soles are also available in this wading boot. Currently, on Amazon, there is a limit of sizes but there are other Simms Tributary boots with a wider array of sizes so be sure to look around until you find the right size.
