The best wind conditions for most fishing will be 2-10 MPH winds with winds out of southeast in summer and winds out of the northeast in winter.

Strong winds (anything above 25 MPH), on top of making casting very hard, can also caught rough seas and reduce underwater visibility. Fishing during strong winds should be avoided as they can be dangerous as well.
